We wanted to be sure that we had enough head room and that the canopy had the shape that we desired. We took a lot of time making the bow and getting it positioned where we wanted it. This would determine the shape of the windshield that we would eventually regret having to make. The stick we talk about is ripped off of a 2X4 at a width of 1/8 inch. These strips were originally to be used for the bows and we did make the original turtle deck bow out of them, but bows are much easier to make using foam and fiberglass or carbon fiber.

The top of this canopy and the way the door is fashioned will later be changed when we see one at the second gathering in Red Oak. That set us back about 2 months, but I think it was worth it. To see the process of converting to that type of canopy opening, click on "New Canopy" above.
